Having worshiped and worked in the downtown/north end of Dubuque for over 25 years, Marlene's passion to build unity out of diversity has grown. In addition to serving on the Multicultural Family Center board for two years, she has been very active at Holy Spirit Parish for 28 years in a variety of roles.  She is a member of faces&voices with planning the Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast for 13 years, President of VSA arts of Dubuque for 12 years serving persons with disabilities, led the Heart of Dubuque Ice Cream Social at Comiskey Park for 4 years, served as a Dubuque Chamber of Commerce Ambassador for 10 years, volunteer teacher for Junior Achievement for over 10 years, teen game coordinator for the Washington Neighborhood Block Party for two years and currently serving as a Board of Director at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  She believes in making a difference in the community where she lives, works, worships and plays. Through her interactions with young people, families and senior citizens she has learned we can live in harmony by embracing each other on our journey of life. She has been married to her husband John for 38 years and has three daughters and two granddaughters.  She enjoys cooking, travelling, boating, baseball, football, playing cards, and spending time with her family.  As a Business Development Coordinator at Honkamp Krueger & Co. P.C. she finds solutions for all their business needs.
